August 28, 2024 - Mr. Christian Kazoleas presents his research on "DESIGN AND FABRICATION OF A DEPLOYABLE TENSEGRITY MILLIROBOT FOR NEXT-GENERATION GASTROINTESTINAL DIAGNOSTICS AND TREATMENT" at International Design Engineering Technical Conferences & Computers and Information in Engineering Conference (IDETC-CIE 2024) at Washington, DC. Congratulations!
April 18, 2024 - Mr. Christian Kazoleas research receives support from the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP). This Fellowship provides three years of support over a five-year fellowship period. For each of the three years of support, NSF provides a $37,000 stipend and $16,000 cost of education allowance to the graduate degree-granting institution of higher education for each Fellow who uses the support in a fellowship year. The program recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students who are pursuing full-time research-based master's and doctoral degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) or in STEM education. Congratulations!
March 20, 2024 - Prof. Yuan's research project "Tensegrity Autonomous Deployable Millirobots for Next-Generation Gastrointestinal Diagnostics" receives AHA's Second Century Early Faculty Independence Award 24SCEFIA1259736 (Single PI), with an amount of $300,000.00. AHA’s Second Century Early Faculty Independence Awards will support highly promising investigators in the early years of their first professional appointment as they address one of several possible areas of critical, emerging priority. Congratulations!
January 11, 2024 - Ms. Na Tan presented her paper "On-Orbit Dynamic Thermal Modeling of Large Deployable Mesh Reflectors" at 2024 AIAA SciTech in Orlando, Florida. Congratulations!
August 23, 2023 - Mr. Christian Kazoleas and Mr. Jiajun Zhang join Prof. Yuan's DS^2R Lab as Ph.D. students. Welcome!
August 16, 2023 - Prof. Yuan proudly joins the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics at The University of Alabama as a tenure-track Assistant Professor!
July 18, 2023 - Prof. Yuan's research project "CRII:OAC:A Data-Driven Closed-Loop Platform for Optimal Design of Deployable Pin-Jointed Structures" receives NSF award 2335692 (Single PI), with an amount of $174,484.00.
July 1, 2023 - Prof. Yuan is elected to the ASME Technical Committee on Multibody Systems and Nonlinear Dynamics and will serve on the Multibody System (MB) sub-committee.
